Use It or Lose It (10): 10 Exercises to Practise Pronouns in Romanian

Direct Object and Indirect Object pronouns are difficult in Romanian. They correspond to the Accusative and Dative case, respectively, and they have distinct forms for emphasis and lack of emphasis („pe mine … mă” / “mie … îmi”), as well as for certain verb forms (“îl sun”, but “l-am sunat”). For sure, they require much practice and more patience to learn. You can approach them strictly grammatically, as done in this paragraph, or you can pick them up more easily, perhaps, as “chunks” - i.e. in common language bits seen as phrases (such as “îmi place”). Either way, practice you do need!

So. Are you up for it? Brace yourself and do these 10 exercises ranked from easier to harder. Good luck! (Answer key at the end.)
